Robert A. Druskin is known worldwide as an innovative business leader. The former Citigroup Inc. executive was instrumental in the company’s development as a preeminent financial services company, beginning with his joining Smith Barney in 1991 as chief administrative officer, through its eventual reorganization as part of the newly formed Citigroup in 1998. He became CEO of the Corporate and Investment Banking Group in December 2003 and was appointed Citigroup’s COO in December 2006; he retired as COO in January 2008. Druskin has also been a strong supporter of Rutgers. He and his wife established the Harriett and Robert Druskin Endowed Scholarship, which aids hard-working students who face financial challenges. For their support of the university’s mission, the Druskins received the 2001–02 Rutgers University Medal for Philanthropic Excellence. Druskin has been a member of the university’s Board of Trustees and its Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick advisory committee, the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Overseers, the President’s Business Leaders Cabinet, and the Rutgers College Dean’s Advisory Council.
