
Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities 30th Anniversary Celebration
In 1992, the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities (SJE) came into existence on Rutgers University – New Brunswick’s campus. For 30 years, SJE has been a safe space, lifting and protecting queer and trans students while cultivating opportunities to find community, support, and affirmation. SJE has promoted both social and educational opportunities for leadership, identity, and social justice advocacy development.
IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE! Join us at the Rutgers Club, Monday, April 17, 2023, from 4:30pm – 8:00pm for a evening of remembering history, accomplishments and sharing impact of the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities. You will hear from current students, alum, and our center’s past directors, including a featured keynote from our founding director, Dr. Cheryl Clarke.
To further the celebration, SJE will be announce the recipient of the 2023 Advocate for Change Award.
Registration includes a 3-course meal, open and cash bar, and Rutgers PRIDE themed giveaways.
