GSEAA presents “A Christmas Carol: How Dickens Changed Christmas with a Ghost Story”
Christmas was a relatively minor holiday in Britain and the US. So how did a brief novel by Charles Dickens literally change the way we celebrate December 25th? In this virtual presentation and multimedia talk, entertainment historian John Kenrick looks back on how this beloved story had such a cultural impact — and offers video clips from some of the many stage and screen adaptations of Scrooge’s discovery of the true spirit of Christmas.
