Marine Extension Program Seminar Series: Rising Seas on New Jersey’s Coasts
Sea level in New Jersey is rising at a faster pace than the global average, and the rate of rise is accelerating, putting coastal and low-lying areas in New Jersey at increased risk from coastal flooding and storms. Jennifer S. Walker, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Rutgers, will describe sea-level change in New Jersey from the past through the present and into the future, as well as the causes of sea-level rise within a regional and global perspective.
