As loyal and dedicated supporters of Rutgers, we invite you to join us for a conversation with Jason MacDonald, chief investment officer at Rutgers University, and Jeremy L. Scarbrough, JD, assistant vice president, Estate and Gift Planning at Rutgers University Foundation. They will explain the management of Rutgers’ endowment, discuss long-term philanthropy, and explain how charitable gifts build the university’s future.

jeremy scarboroughJeremy L. Scarbrough, J.D., is associate vice president for estate and gift planning at Rutgers University Foundation. Jeremy joined Rutgers University Foundation in August 2019 and has enhanced collaboration between foundation leadership and the estate and gift planning team to secure approximately $130 million in planned gifts to Rutgers University. Jeremy has twenty-three years of fundraising experience, most recently serving as regional director of planned giving at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He played a vital role in the university’s $3.378 billion campaign. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he studied business and economics. He earned his juris doctor degree from the University of Louisville’s Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

jason mcdonaldJason MacDonald is the Chief Investment Officer at the Rutgers University Investment Office, joining in 2016 and overseeing approximately $2 billion in endowment assets. Prior to Rutgers, Jason was Senior Portfolio Manager for Private Markets with the New Jersey Division of Investment.  In that role, he was responsible for managing approximately $20 billion across a variety of alternative investment asset classes and the underlying portfolio team. Jason began his career at the Division as an analyst within the private equity group.  Jason holds a BS in Environmental Business Economics from Rutgers University, and an MBA in Finance from St. Peter’s College. Recently, he joined the non-profit board of the American Friends of the National Gallery, London, serving on their investment committee.
