Rutgers University Alumni Book Club: The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King
Now is a great time to join the Rutgers University Alumni Book Club, a free program for members of the Rutgers community. We are now more than 1,500 readers strong! The book club can help you continue your journey of lifelong learning through reading both entertaining and informative titles and encountering authors you might not ordinarily read.
We will begin reading The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King on October 14. You can find the book online, at your local bookstore, or at your local library.
The Good Neighbor is a rich exploration of the life and work of Fred Rogers, the beloved creator of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. In his book, King guides us through Rogers’ formative years, through his failures and successes.
As we read, we’ll learn more about this American icon and his authentic good-naturedness. King, however, will illuminate some aspects of Fred Rogers that were not perfect, providing what the Washington Post called a “humanizing perspective.”
Join now, obtain a copy of the book (or audiobook), and jump in on the discussion with other alumni.
