Rutgers Veteran Alumni General Meeting, Lunch & Football Game Watch

On November 20, 2021, at 9:00 AM the Veteran Alumni of Rutgers University (VARU) will hold its first in-person, General Meeting with all Chapters & Committees in attendance in the Officers Wardroom on America’s most decorated Battleship afloat, the USS New Jersey.

Those unable to physically attend are invited to participate via Zoom. Please email Rutgers.veterans@gmail.com to request the Zoom link.

Following the meeting, during lunch catered by Andreotti’s, attendees will get to listen to two guest speakers, VARU’s own Captain John C. Baker (Retired USNR) an alumnus who served on the USS New Jersey and Captain Walter M. Urban, JR. USN (Ret.), the ship’s historian.

After lunch, you may take a guided tour of the Battleship for an additional $10.

Attendees will have the choice to stay in the Officers Wardroom to watch our beloved Scarlet Knights battle the Nittany Lions or join their fellow Alumni on the deck at a cash bar under the Tented Fan Tail to watch the action. The time for the Rutgers vs. Penn State game is still to be determined (afternoon or evening) by the Big Ten.

Regardless of your choices, VARU’s plan is to host an alumni gathering that you will not only remember for the years to come but will join us in our mission of assisting our fellow veterans in living successful lives.
