Rutgers Veteran Alumni Softball Challenge

Hey Rutgers Veterans!

It’s time to dust off your bat and glove and get ready to play some softball. The Veteran Alumni of Rutgers University (VARU) has once again issued a challenge to the Rutgers Veteran Students to play softball. Back in 2019, a hard game was played against the students in New Brunswick under the leadership of Bryan Adams, but the students won, 20 to 10 and walked away with the Scarlet Bat.

This year, the alumni are looking to redeem themselves and have scheduled the following two games:

For Veterans living near the New Brunswick Campus:
A game is scheduled for August 28, 2021, at 10:00 AM to be played on Field #3 at Buccleuch Park, City of New Brunswick  (In front of the New Brunswick Veterans House). Refreshment will be provided on the field but with no alcoholic beverages.

For Veterans living near the Camden Campus:
A game is scheduled for September 4, 2021, 10:00 AM to be played on Cricket Field, 41 Lakeview Dr N, Gibbsboro, NJ 08026  with a luncheon to follow at American Legion Post 371.

Please circulate this flyer to spread the word.

All participants must register in advance. Family & Friends are Welcome, but all attendees must be registered and agree to follow RUTGERS COVID Procedures!

Please email questions to Rutgers.Veterans@gmail.com and list “Softball” for the Subject for a prompt answer.

Scarlet Forever!
