In recognition of the 10th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, we pause to reflect and evaluate on how our state has become more resilient to environmental impacts, with an emphasis on storms and extreme weather. Join us for this webinar series as we learn from experts on how New Jersey has become more resilient.This program is a collaboration between two Rutgers Cooperative Extension programs: the Earth Day, Every Day (E2D2) program and the Marine Extension Program Seminar Series (MEPSS). We will discuss what New Jersey has done and what you personally can do to become more resilient to environmental impacts such as storms and extreme weather.

  • October 24: “Living Shoreline and Beach Nourishment” with John Miller, Stevens Institute of Technology.
  • November 14: “Strategies to Minimize the Impacts of Coastal Flooding and Salt Water on Agricultural Lands” with Christopher Miller, Manager/Plant Specialist with the USDA-NRCS Cape May Plant Materials Center.
  • November 21: “Planning for the Unplanned: Preparing for Marine Debris Response In New Jersey” with Jessica Conway, Response Specialist, NOAA Marine Debris Program.
