Joseph H. Lemkin RC’90 Appointed Chair of the Rutgers University Alumni Association Board of Directors

Joseph H. LemkinThe Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA) has appointed Joseph H. Lemkin RC’90 chair of the association’s Board of Directors following a board vote late this spring. Lemkin joins several other incoming board officers and members and alumni senators who will begin their terms July 1, 2017.

Lemkin is a shareholder at Stark & Stark and a member of its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group. He earned a law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1994.

He has served as a member of the RUAA board and is currently the board’s vice chair. He has served on numerous RUAA committees, including Awards and Recognition, Homecoming, and Nominations, and chaired both the Nominations and Awards and Recognition committees.

He has been an executive board member of the Touchdown Club, of which he served as club president for four years. During his tenure, the club raised significant funds for Rutgers athletics and engaged a number of former letterwinners with the football program. Lemkin has also been a part of the football Hall of Fame committee and the athletic department’s annual Knights of Networking event.

He has volunteered extensively with Sigma Phi Epsilon, participating in the group’s class agent program, mentoring program, and the Balanced Man Scholarship. He is the Development Board chair for the Rutgers Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights. He has been a cohost of Scarlet Conversations with the Scarlet Council, the RUAA’s student alumni association.

In 2009, he was honored by the RUAA with the Block R Award and he was named a Rutgers Alumni Association Loyal Son of Rutgers in 2013. During the football season, he hosts the Rutgers Football Preview show on 920 the Jersey on Fox Sports Radio.
