The doors of the Rutgers Alumni House at Van Nest Hall are open to you no matter where you earned your Rutgers degree. It’s a place for all Rutgers alumni to relax, socialize, network, and reminisce. Come see for yourself how this space can help you stay connected with the past, present, and future of Rutgers.

The second instructional building to be constructed at Rutgers, Van Nest Hall was erected in 1845 and named for Abraham Van Nest, a New York City merchant and devoted trustee of Rutgers College. Over the decades the structure has served a wide range of academic and administrative purposes.

Respectful renovation has retained the building’s historic character, and Van Nest Hall still holds its time-honored place of prominence in New Brunswick’s College Avenue neighborhood.
