Career Threads Spring 2025

Help rising professionals dress for success

Be part of this exciting Career Threads initiative

Imagine getting ready for a major job interview or meeting. Chances are, you’ll spend a lot of time choosing the right clothes. The phrase “dress for success” carries real
meaning in the professional world.

For many Rutgers students who are trying to enter that competitive world, obtaining appropriate business attire can be a challenge. But a solution exists here at Rutgers–
Newark. It’s called Career Threads, a division of the Career Resource and Exploration Center.

Please consider taking part in the Career Threads initiative with a high-quality clothing donation. From now until the end of September, we are accepting much-needed
wardrobe items that can make a huge difference in a young professional’s future.

Examples of helpful clothing are:

  • Blazers, collared or button-down shirts, polos, slacks, skirts, dresses, hijabs, etc.
  • Accessories: ties, jewelry, belts, and shoes.
  • Socks or stockings (must be new and still in packaging).
  • All other items listed above must be gently used or new.

For your convenience, two days of the week are open for dropping off items.

On Tuesdays, bring your gift to:

Rutgers University–Newark Alumni Center
72 Washington Street, Newark NJ 07102
Drop-off times: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Fridays, bring your donation to:

The Career Resource and Exploration Center
Engelhard Hall, Suite 101
Rutgers University–Newark
Drop-off times: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can also mail your donation to the Alumni Center at any time. For more information, please contact newark@rutgersfoundation.org or 973-353-5603.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness! Your gift means so much to Rutgers students as they aim for success.
