Dan DiFilippo has been elected to serve as chair of the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Directors through June 30, 2025, filling the seat previously held by Amy L. Towers, who has been elected to serve as chair of the Rutgers Board of Governors.

DiFilippo, a 1983 accounting graduate of Rutgers University–Newark, has served on the Foundation Board of Directors since 2016. He is the current chair of the Finance Committee and previously served on the Governance Committee. He retired as a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in July 2022 after spending almost 40 years at the firm. DiFilippo serves on the boards of several start-ups and nonprofit organizations, including Royalwood Holdings and his alma mater, St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford, New Jersey.

“Dan is highly engaged as a board member, supportive of our staff, and this past year, applied his global business expertise to assist us with engaging our alums outside of the U.S.,” says Kimberly Hopely, president of the Rutgers University Foundation. “I look forward to working closely with Dan to build upon the leadership of Amy Towers and the board chairs who proceeded her.”

As chair of the Rutgers Board of Governors, Towers will represent the Board of Governors as an ex-officio member of the Foundation Board of Directors.

The Rutgers University Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, exists to generate philanthropic resources and facilitate meaningful engagement to advance the mission of Rutgers. The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and fiduciary oversight of the Foundation.
